This training is designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of basic geological concepts, technical terminology, and the role of geology in exploration, field development, and natural resource operations, particularly in the oil and gas industry.

At the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to:

1. Understand basic geological terminology commonly used in technical discussions and project coordination;

2. Understand the fundamental concepts of rocks, minerals, fossils, stratigraphy, geological structures, and geological age;

3. Read and interpret geological maps, geological cross sections, and stratigraphic columns at a basic level;

4. Understand geological processes affecting exploration, drilling, field development, and geohazard-related risks;

5. Understand the role of geologists throughout the upstream oil and gas workflow, from exploration to reserves evaluation and production support;

6. Communicate more effectively with geologists and subsurface professionals despite not having a geology background.
